We go to many travel booking platforms but these are the websites we’ve used the most through the years. Whether you’re looking for accommodations, tours, transportation, or any other travel-related services, then the companies listed below are some of the best in the business.

Looking for accommodations? These are the hotel booking platforms we use the most.

Booking.com logo

Booking.com

Booking.com is our favorite hotel booking platform. Their website is easy to use and offers a wide selection of accommodations that range from five-star hotels to hostels and homestays. We’ve probably booked at least 80% of our hotel stays through the years on Booking.com.

Agoda logo

Agoda

Booking.com is our preferred platform but we always search for hotels on Agoda as well. Available listings and prices are often different between the two websites so we make it a habit to check both platforms to find the best deal. In our experience, Agoda offers the best hotel deals in Asia.

Stay22 logo

Stay22

Sometimes, we prefer searching for accommodations using an interactive map which is why we love working with Stay22. They provide these handy maps that display available listings in any area from partners like Booking.com, Hotels.com, and Vrbo. Just type your destination in the map below to search for the perfect place to stay!

Going on tours and doing fun activities is one of the best things about travel. These are the websites that we use the most when booking tours and experiences on trips.

Get Your Guide logo

Get Your Guide

Get Your Guide is our favorite tour booking platform. Their website is easy to use and they offer one of the widest selections of tours and other travel-related activities and services (airport transfers, SIM cards, transportation passes, etc) anywhere in the world.

Klook logo

Klook

Get Your Guide may be our favorite tour booking platform but when it comes to destinations in Asia, no one beats Klook. Not only do they offer the biggest selection, but their website is one of the most fun and easy to use.

Cookly logo

Cookly

If you’d like to take a cooking class during your holiday, then there’s no better place to search for one than on Cookly. They offer hundreds of cooking classes in many different cities around the world. We’ve probably taken over half a dozen cooking classes with them over the years and have never been disappointed with the experience.

Go City logo

Go City

Go City offers tourist discount passes that give you access to a multitude of tours and attractions in over two dozen cities around the world. We used our Go City passes to visit the top Gaudi attractions in Barcelona and they wound up saving us EUR 55 each on admission and tour fees.

Fever logo

Fever

Fever is a live-entertainment discovery platform that allows you to book tickets to limited-time events like concerts, workshops, music festivals, and exhibits in different cities around the world. If you’d like to catch a show while on vacation, then Fever is a good place to look.

Magical Trip logo

Magical Trip

Magical Trip is a tour booking platform that offers tours exclusively in Japan. If you’re Japanophiles like we are, then you’ll definitely want to check out their small but well-curated lineup of local-led tours in Japan’s top tourist destinations. Some of the best tours we’ve been on in Japan were from Magical Trip.

byFood logo

byFood

Like Magical Trip, byFood offers tours only in Japan but they focus on food experiences. On top of offering food tours, cooking classes, and other food-related activities, they sell gourmet products on their website and can help you make restaurant reservations. Many restaurants in Japan require reservations so this can be a very helpful feature.

Wabunka logo

Wabunka

Like the previous two platforms, Wabunka offers tours and activities in Japan but their focus is on high-end luxury experiences. They offer a unique line-up of curated experiences, many of which you won’t find on other platforms. Wabunka isn’t your typical tour booking platform so I suggest going through their website if you want to do something a little more special in Japan.

TAGTHAi logo

TAGTHAi

Backed by the Thai government, TAGTHAi offers tourist passes to the top destinations in Thailand like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. It’s similar to the previously mentioned Go City pass but on top of reduced admission to tourist attractions, it will give you discounts on food, massages, transportation, and other activities as well.

Needless to say, transportation is an essential part of any trip. These are the websites we use the most when searching for transportation options at any destination.

Skyscanner logo

Skyscanner

Skyscanner is the first website we check when searching for flights. It’s basically a flight search engine that scours the web for the cheapest flights anywhere in the world. If you’re flexible with your travel plans, it can even show you the cheapest days to book your flight.

Bookaway logo

Bookaway

Bookaway is our go-to website for booking airport transfers, bus/train tickets, or chauffeured vehicles. They offer a wide range of transportation options in many cities around the world. We’ve probably booked around two dozen rides with them in the last couple of years alone.

Rentalcars.com logo

Rentalcars.com

We don’t rent cars too often on trips but when we do, Rentalcars.com is the first website we go to. Operated by Booking.com, it connects you to some of the biggest car rental brands in the world like Avis, Alamo, Budget, and Enterprise.

When we were younger and first started traveling, we saw travel insurance as a luxury. Something that was nice to have but didn’t really need. Now that we’re wiser (and a little longer in the tooth), we never leave home without it.

The fact is, you never know what might happen on a trip so it’s good to be prepared. Most of the time, we don’t use it – which is ideal – but I did wind up needing it on a trip to Marrakech and I was so happy to have it. Aside from covering injuries and illnesses, travel insurance will also cover things like lost luggage, motor accidents, and travel delays.

Safety Wing logo

Safety Wing

We’ve been purchasing travel insurance from Safety Wing for many years now. Aside from offering insurance policies with fixed travel dates, what makes them unique is that they also offer nomad insurance that renews every four weeks. This is ideal for digital nomads like us who are on the road constantly and need protection at all times, no matter where we are in the world.

Heymondo logo

Heymondo

Heymondo is another travel insurance provider that we’ve often bought policies from. As a Will Fly for Food reader, you’ll get a 5% discount off your next policy if you purchase it through this link.

Depending on your passport, you may need to secure a tourist visa before visiting your next destination.

iVisa logo

iVisa

iVisa is a global online visa service that helps tourists process their travel documents. We use them to process our Vietnam e-visas and have always been happy with their services.
