Nami Island is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Seoul. Aside from being storybook beautiful, it’s a curious place that’s unlike anything we’ve ever visited. There’s a child-like quality to the island reminiscent of faeries, elves, and other playful spirits. We relegate them to fantasy as adults but here, they may still exist.
Everland Resort is a Korean theme park located about 36 km from Seoul in Yongin City. It’s South Korea’s biggest theme park, receiving around 7.3 million visitors annually. Its most popular attractions include T Express, the world’s steepest wooden rollercoaster, and Panda World, which is home to a pair of giant pandas.
Inside the DMZ, near the western coast of the peninsula, is the former village of Panmunjom which is now home to a small area known as the JSA or Joint Security Area. The JSA is the only portion of the DMZ where North and South Korean soldiers stand face-to-face. It’s been called “the most dangerous place in the Korean peninsula.”
Oak Valley Snow Park is a ski resort in Gangwon province, about one-and-a-half hours away from Seoul. It has 3 ski lifts and is home to 9 slopes – 2 green, 5 blue, and 2 black lines. There’s a small bunny hill for people who want to go sledding as well.

When you don’t have to do any clean-up and virtually all chance of failure is eliminated, then cooking becomes a guaranteed joy, even for boneheads like me.
For me, a tuk-tuk is the best and most fun way not just to get around Bangkok, but to explore it too. Being in an open vehicle, you’re more exposed to the elements so you get a better feel for the city. The traffic, the smells, the sounds, the chatter. I know many people don’t like it but I do find it to be part and parcel of the Bangkok experience.
Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand and part of the Himalayan mountain range. Located about two hours southwest of the Old City, it makes for a popular day trip from Chiang Mai.
